Chief Supply Chain Officer of Unilever Plc. Mr. Marc Engel has reiterated the company’s commitment to local manufacturing in Nigeria. Mr. Engel made the pledge during a visit to the Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Overseas Affairs and Investment, Prof. Ademola Abass.

Marc Engel, who was in company of Unilever management team, said that the company has been operating in Nigeria for more than 90 years and would continue to invest in the country despite the prevailing economic challenges.

“Nigeria is strategic to our business operations. This is why we remain committed to the country’s socio-economic development”, he said.

Welcoming the visitors, Prof. Abass commended the company for its long operations in the country, even as he promised the state government’s commitment at ensuring a conducive environment for its business expansion plans.  He said, “Our aim is to provide the enabling environment to help businesses in Nigeria, hence our continuous support in this regard as the administration is passionate about economic development of the state through Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
