At the close of yesterday’s trading session, the Open Buy Back, OBB and Over Night, OVN rates advanced by 16bps and 25bps to settle at 14.83% and 15.75% accordingly. Consequently, the average money market rate settled higher at 15.29%.
The average T-bills yield advanced by 0.10% to settle at 14.99%. Yield gains were recorded along the shorter tenors, 1M (+0.06%) and 3M (0.68%) tenors, however, the yields on the 6M, 9M and 12M tenors declined by 0.13%, 0.07% and 0.03% respectively.
In the Treasury bonds space, six (6) instruments recorded yield declines and yield gains apiece. Other instruments traded flat. However, bearish sentiments prevailed, as the average bond yield advanced, albeit marginally, by 1bps to settle at 13.57%.
At the interbank market, the Naira appreciated by NGN0.05 to close at NGN305.60/USD.
However, at the parallel FX market, Naira depreciated by NGN1.00 to settle at NGN365/USD.
