The equities market Tuesday witnessed a contraction in trading session, following decline in UACN (-0.48%), Transcorp (-2.27%), Zenithbank (-0.84%), FBNH (-2.72%), Sterlnbank (-3.75%), Fidelitybk (-3.78%), Japaulgold (-5.45%), Buacement (-5.71%) and Champion (-9.68%).
Consequently, the NSE ASI declined by 0.72% with Month-to-Date and Year-to-Date returns printing at -2.04% and -3.10%, respectively.
The total volume of trades increased by 42.79% to 204.65 million units, valued at NGN1.84 billion and exchanged in 3,940 deals.
Courtville was the most traded stock by volume at 27.12 million units while Zenithbank was the most traded stock by value at NGN435.53 million.
On sectoral performance today, the contractions in the Industrial (-2.57%), Insurance (-1.37%) and Consumer (-0.05%) sectors outweighed the expansions in the Banking (+0.03%) and Oil & Gas (+0.26%) sectors.
