The equity market witnessed an expansion in Wednesday’s trading session, following buying interests in WAPIC (3.45%), Zenithbank (0.44%), UBA (0.70%), Unilever (0.85%), Dangcem (1.41%) and Wemabank (1.72%).

Consequently, the NGX ASI expanded by 0.18% with Month-to-Date and Year-to-Date returns printing at -3.39% and -4.44, respectively.

The total volume of trades decreased by 42.91% to close at 156.91 million units, valued at NGN1.33 billion and exchanged in 3,273 deals. Japaulgold was the most traded stock by volume at 19.95 million units while SEPLAT was the most traded stock value at NGN319.97 million.

On sectorial performance, the expansions in the Banking (+0.02%), Insurance (+0.76%) and Industrial (+0.50%) sectors outweighed the contractions in the Oil & Gas (-0.05%) and Consumer (-0.16%) sectors.
