The equity market Wednesday continued its decline in the trading session, following selling pressures in FBNH (-0.70%), Transcorp (-1.11%), Sterlnbank (-1.24%), Zenithbank (-1.26%), AIICO (-1.82%), WAPIC (-1.82%), ETI (-1.94%), Access (-2.34%), Mansard (-3.33%) and Japaulgold (-10.00%).
Consequently, the NGX ASI contracted by 0.11% with Month-to-Date and Year-to-Date returns printing at -1.64% and -6.12%, respectively.
The total volume of trades declined by 4.54% to close at 208.36 million units, valued at NGN1.60 billion and exchanged in 3,365 deals.
Zenithbank was the most traded stock by volume and value at 33.68 million units and NGN795.03 million.
On sectorial performance today, the selling pressures in the Insurance (-0.51%), Banking (-0.75%) and Oil & Gas (-0.10%) sectors outweighed the buying interests in the Consumer (+0.10%) sectors.
